Classic saloon boat, 1921
Built in 1921, this saloon boat operated on the River Ruhr near Duisburg from 1921 to 1967.
There, together with other saloon boats, it operated as a regular service between the various towns and villages along the Ruhr.
In 1967, she was brought to the Netherlands, where she sailed for her first Dutch owner under the name Edlih until 1972.
From 1972 to 2025, she operated as the ‘Tram’ on the River IJssel, sailing from Deventer.
There, it was mostly used as a sightseeing boat for up to 12 people.
We bought the little boat in 2025, had it fully customised to our requirements, and now sail it as a classic motor yacht.
Grou was deliberately chosen as the mooring point because of the lovely sailing area accessible from there.
